ABOUT ME

Most people describe me as an enthusiastic designer at heart with over a decade of experience leading, mentoring, and scaling creative teams to victory without being a jerk face about it.
I love working directly with founders and teams to uncover what makes a brand worth caring about, then turning that idea into something clear, compelling, and unmistakably theirs.
Iโ€™m most interested in the moment when a complicated business problem becomes a simple idea. The kind that makes everyone in the room say, โ€œYep, thatโ€™s us.โ€ From there, I like getting my hands dirty, building brands, digital experiences, and design systems that turn that idea into something people can see, feel, and remember.

My work spans brand strategy, identity, UX/UI, and graphic design, but the goal is always the same: make the complicated feel simple, find the thing that makes a company different, and build something strong enough to help it punch above its weight.

Along the way, my work has been recognized by AWWWards, Nielsen Norman Group, The Ad Club, MITX, Muse Creative Awards, DotCOMM Awards, the Dribbble Moonlighting Series, and Logo of the Day, among others.

Outside my design life, I spend time chasing other obsessions like my fondness for volcanic islands (Iceland, Hawaii, Japan), knife making in my garage, photography, 50cc mopeds, hiking, fly fishing, producing electronic music and spending quality time with my amazing fam. I am also a fanboy of Snow Peak's gear and brand. I have fully embraced eating with a spork and losing friends.

WORKING

TOGETHER

WORKING

TOGETHER

Those I collaborate with closely know me as the optimistic anchor, someone to turn to when challenges arise or when a clear perspective of what can be done to take things to the next level is needed.

Shipping products and digital experiences is a team sport. The most victorious teams collaborate from the outset closely, laterally, and often. Talent alone isn't enough; it's about shared passion, values, open dialogue, and the willingness to push boundaries.

BOOKSHELF

BOOKSHELF

Slowly fighting Tsundoku โ€” I struggle to finish my current book before buying new art and design books.

We Were The Robots

Iโ€™ve always been fascinated by Daft Punk, not just the music, but the wild robot persona they built around it. Two french dudes somehow turned drum machines, synths, helmets and an obsessive attention to detail into something that felt ever futuristic, but also human.

This book share more of their early Soma days through Homework, Discovery and beyond.

Itโ€™s equal parts music history, design inspiration and a reminder that sometimes the best creative decision is refusing to explain everything to death.

Rock The Shack

I can't tell if this is a symptom of me binge-watching Cabin Chronicles over the holidays or all the recent political headlines everywhere, but moving off-grid to some remote part of Maine's coastline has never hit better for me.

The writing is sparse but rich, and the photos of modern cabins are just stunning. FYI, This book was less ginormous than One Year on a Bike.

Ogilvy on Advertising

This book finally hit my cheapskate Amazon book threshold of under $10 last month, so I bought it after years of interest, and let me tell you, it didn't disappoint. Ogilvy provides easy-to-understand, visually rich examples of what makes excellent advertising.

Honestly, most of them still hold up today (written over 30 years ago) and underscore how ahead of his time he was. ๏ปฟThis book cover inspired my homepage hero design.

The Creative Act: A Way of Being

I picked this up expecting a book about making music and ended up finding a book about making almost anything.

Rubinโ€™s idea of paying attention, to sounds, accidents, instincts, and things that feel slightly strange, has probably stuck with me more than any production advice could.

Kinetic Fields

Kinetic Fields

I compose experimental electronic and house music under the name Kinetic Fields, blending costal synth vibes, dark house bass, emotional vocals, and cinematic drops.
