I'm Jared — an Artist, Creative Director & Designer × I only judge books & Netflix shows by their covers.
Most people would describe me as an enthusiastic designer at heart with over a decade of experience leading, mentoring, and scaling creative teams to victory without being a jerk face about it. I thoroughly enjoy collaborating directly with founders to unearth the essence that makes their brand stand out, and I take pride in celebrating our shared success when our ideas come to life visually.
I help companies express themselves memorably through Brand Identity, UI/UX Design, Illustration, and Graphic Design.
Over the course of my career, I’ve provided pragmatic insight, strategy, and execution expertise to brands and businesses who want to punch above their weight and better connect with their target audiences. I'm deeply passionate about influencing positive behavior through exceptional design that not only captivates but also inspires action.

Outside my design life, I pursue other passions like my fondness for volcanic islands (Iceland, Hawaii, Japan), knife making in my garage, photography, 50cc Mopeds, hiking, fly fishing, and spending quality time with my amazing fam. I am also a total fanboy of Snow Peak's gear and brand. I have fully embraced eating with a spork and losing friends.

What I've been reading
A trusted colleague recommended this book to me, and from the first few pages, I was thrilled to discover that it focuses on Category Design, offering a straightforward yet powerful strategy for approaching branding from a unique perspective. The writing style is down-to-earth and sprinkled with a bit of humor, earning it an extra 10 points in my book.
Being housebound for so long and working from home really had me looking to live through other travelers' experiences. This title is one of the best travel books I've found, produced with a designer's sensibility and gestalten's quality. The writing is sparse but rich, and the photos are stunning. I didn't expect this book to be as ginormous as it is.
Ogilvy on Advertising
This book finally hit my cheapskate amazon book threshold of under $10 last month, so I bought it after years of interest, and let me tell you, it didn't disappoint. Ogilvy provides easy-to-understand, visually rich examples of what makes excellent advertising. Honestly, most of them still hold up today (written over 30 years ago) and underscore how ahead of his time he was.
Well designed, beautiful examples of John’s work, and great insight into John’s life. I dig this book. It’s clearly a labor of love and true testimate to his relentless pursuit of placing craft above all else. Also, for all my frugal book watch list friends out there, it's under $13 on Amazon right now.
